At Little Treasure Cove on a summer morning, the tide will drop to negative one and change everything on the reef for roughly ninety minutes. Anemones open. Sea hares appear in pools that were surf an hour earlier. By late morning the water returns and the window closes until the next appropriate tide, which may fall on a Tuesday you're at work.

That is the argument for this guide. Living inside Crystal Cove doesn't automatically grant access to its best hours. The park rewards residents who plan around two documents: the Crystal Cove Conservancy's summer calendar and the local tide chart. Everything else, the Promenade, the Beachcomber, dinner at A Crystal Cove, is logistics around those two anchors.

The calendar is the real access key

The Conservancy runs a dense summer program from the Historic District, and most of it is either free or requires advance registration that fills.
